HI, I'M LISA FOX... 

 and I’ve loved music for as long as I can remember. Despite what my history as a performer and music teacher may lead you to believe, I have had very little formal training. A half-hearted attempt at learning violin and piano the traditional way as a child taught me that I was never patient with scales or theory. Old traditional tunes did NOT light me up. I just wanted to play songs I loved. So, with a nudge in the right direction from some patient older brothers, I taught myself guitar the messy way: printing out guitar tabs back in the day of dial-up internet, learning new chords only when a song demanded it. I wanted to sing and strum, not study and stress.

When I finally got to study music in high school, I nearly walked out of my first class because I didn’t know music theory. But a teacher saw something else in me, a love of performance, and his belief in me changed everything.

Now, after many years of performing and teaching, I know my strength: I help people light their musical spark, I help them believe in themselves, and I help them make noise! No judgement, no pressure.. just making music for the joy of it.

This course won’t teach you to read music or master theory.. But it will get you singing and strumming your favourite songs. It’s for beginners getting their first ukulele, for the dust-gathering-guitar owners, for kids, for parents, camp fire singers, and big stage dreamers.

Music should be fun. So let's sing, strum and make some noise!
